Vertical seismic profile surveying
Main objective of vertical seismic profile (VSP) and walkaway vertical seismic profile (WVSP) surveying is to verify geological structure of near-wellbore zone of exploration and production wells for designing of new production wells, including:
- identification of tectonic faults, forecast of development and evaluation of reservoirs in near-wellbore zone,
- identification and evaluation of oriented fractures, recommendations for further drilling.
- forecast of geological section, abnormally high formation pressure zones and natural strong brine occurrence below bottomhole.
Downhole seismic survey objectives required for successful processing of onshore 2D/3D CDP seismic data are also addressed. Deployed downhole tool: AVSP-1M.
